Tc-99m Shortage - EA Regulatory Position & IPEM Advice
(updated)
Due to the current dificulties being experienced by the Medical
sector, and others, caused by the shortage of Technetium 99m,
the Environment Agency have released a document outlining their
regulatory stance in relation to the current problems. This
document can be found
here. This is a second (clarified) version of
the document, released on 19.09.08, as the EA have noted varied
interpretations of their original release.
At the same time, IPEM
has produced an advice sheet -
here - for those working in the medical
sector.
AURPO accepts no responsibility for the accuracy or content of
either of these documents. Users should check with the Environment
Agency and/or IPEM as necessary.
